Mitarai Valley

Mitarai Valley, with its giant rocks, peculiar stones, waterfalls of various sizes, and abundant variety of trees, creates a breathtaking natural landscape. A riverside promenade has been developed, and you can overlook the waterfalls from the suspension bridge. The sparkling green of spring, the vibrant azaleas in summer, the renowned autumn foliage, and the winter landscape reminiscent of an ink painting – Mitarai Valley offers picturesque beauty in every season. For an enjoyable experience, hiking along the promenade is recommended. If you're traveling by car, please note that the road width of National Route 309 is quite narrow, and parking spaces are limited. Take a refreshing stroll along the approximately 2.5-hour walking trail along the river and through the forest. It is recommended to wear comfortable sneakers or similar footwear. Weekends and holidays during the summer or autumn foliage season tend to be crowded, so visiting on weekdays is advisable.
