RULE

Rules to Enjoy Tenkawa Village

In Tenkawa Village, cooking with an open fire is prohibited in public places such as streets, rivers, and parks by ordinance. Additionally, please be aware that your actions may cause a burden to the community and the environment. For the mutual comfort of both tourists and villagers, please observe the following to enjoy your visit to Tenkawa Village.

  • 01Do not enter areas that are off-limits

Many of the pathways down to the river are private property. Do not enter areas that are off-limits.

  • 02No picking

A forest is someone’s private property. Picking wild vegetables and other plants is considered theft. In addition, the entire area of Tenkawa Village is designated as a UNESCO Eco-Park, which aims to promote the coexistence of nature and human society. Much of the mountain area is designated as Yoshino-Kumano National Park. Please enjoy looking at the plants but do not take them home.

  • 03No Littering

Please take everything you bring back home with you.

  • 04Do not walk off the trail

Do not walk off the sidewalks or trails. Doing so can cause path collapses and damage valuable vegetation.

  • 05Preserving the Tenkawa Blue

The river is a unique emerald green due to the beauty of the water. Cooking with an open fire such as a barbecue by the river is prohibited by ordinance.

  • 06Don't park in an area that will create a nuisance

Parking on a narrow street causes traffic congestion and is a problem for everyone. Also, even if it is a vacant lot, please remember it belongs to someone else.

  • 07A tourist attraction that is also peoples' living space

Refrain from making noise or making loud noises late at night.

  • 08Obtain a recreational fishing ticket for fishing

Ayu (sweetfish), amago (cherry salmon), and other fish are released into the rivers in the village. The village is striving to conserve these resources. Purchase a recreational fishing ticket if you wish to fish.

  • 09Stay in a tent or campervan at a facility that permits overnight stays

Roads and parking lots are not places to stay overnight.

  • 10Use the restrooms and other public facilities with care

We make regular rounds to clean the restrooms so that people can use them comfortably. Consider the next person who uses the facility after you and use them with care.

  • 11Do not do or allow others to do what is forbidden

Mountains and rivers are always dangerous. Being away from your daily routine and being in a group can make you feel overexcited, but please remain calm and act thoughtfully.
