Hahako-do Hall

A hermitage built in Dorogawa by the local people at the request of En-no Gyoja for the sake of his mother's well-being, who was concerned about his safety. The "Barrier Gate Prohibiting Women from Entering," a ban on women entering the mountains, has been preserved for over 1300 years to ensure the safety of En-no Gyoja's mother. This prohibition on women entering the mountains originated from the compassionate heart of En-no Gyoja, who wanted to protect his mother from the dangers of the mountains. Additionally, because En-no Gyoja's mother assisted with childbirth for local residents, the hermitage is believed to have spiritual efficacy for easy childbirth and healthy offspring.
