Sanjo-gatake History Museum
The museum houses treasures and artifacts excavated during the dismantling and repair of the Ominesan-ji Temple conducted from 1983 to 1986. Located near the Ryusen-ji Temple in Mount Omine, it opens on Sundays, holidays, during the Obon and festivals from April to October. The exhibition room provides a glimpse of the inner sanctum of Ominesan-ji Temple, and visitors can learn about the temple through introduction videos. The exhibits showcase the history of 1,300 years of prayer and the depth of people's faith through various items. Notably, the highlights include two gold Amida Nyorai statues and Bodhisattva statues (replicas). Numerous important cultural properties, such as reliefs depicting the layers of earth, votive tablets, and traces of pillars, including remnants of Goma wood, are on display.
